GTA 6 PS5 preorder refund: US cancellation guide

Can you cancel a GTA 6 PS5 preorder? Use this US PlayStation support checklist to review timing, preload status, transaction history and refund options.

Short answer

Under the US PlayStation support policy checked on September 20, 2026, cancellation depends on when you ordered and whether the main game has downloaded or preloaded. Earlier preorders can be canceled before release; orders placed within 14 days of release have a purchase-based 14-day window. Check the conditions below before requesting a refund.

What the checked US policy says

For a preorder paid more than 14 days before release, the change-of-mind request must be made before release. For a preorder paid 14 days or less before release, you have up to 14 days from purchase. Both routes require that downloading or preloading the main content has not started.

An automatic preload can therefore affect a later cancellation request. Deleting those files does not reverse the fact that downloading started. If a preorder is canceled, any included extras already made available before launch stop being accessible.

Should you request cancellation now?

This table concerns change-of-mind requests under the checked US policy. Faulty content and rights under applicable local law may be treated differently; the support rules do not remove those rights. A request is not a guaranteed refund.

How to submit the request

Open PlayStation Transaction History, select the eligible transaction and choose Request Refund if available. Follow the instructions shown for that transaction. PlayStation may return funds to the original payment method where possible, while some refunds may go to a wallet; approval is not guaranteed.

The separate refund-request support page is useful for the transaction workflow and support contact route. Retailer, Xbox and other regional policies are outside this US PlayStation guide.

Final checks before submitting

Write down the order date, main release date, transaction entry and current download state. Do not rely on removing an installed or preloaded file to change the purchase history. Preserve receipts and screenshots if support asks for transaction information.

For automatic-download settings and preload setup, use the existing preload guide; this article focuses on cancellation decisions and the request path.
