GTA 6 on Xbox: Series X, Series S and Xbox One

Which Xbox can play GTA 6? Check Series X and S support, Xbox One limits, digital purchases, performance claims, Game Pass and PC access.

Short answer

GTA VI is announced for Xbox Series X and Series S on November 19, 2026. The Xbox store lists those consoles as supported devices; it does not list Xbox One or Windows PC for this purchase.

Which Xbox models are supported?

The Series X|S label includes both current-generation models. Xbox One S and Xbox One X belong to the older Xbox One family; the letters S and X alone do not tell you which generation a seller means.

Series S purchases and edition choice

Series S has no disc drive, so choose a compatible digital license. A physical disc cannot be inserted into it. Do not assume a disc-conversion offer applies to GTA VI without title-specific confirmation.

The US Xbox listing checked on September 13 shows Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99 before any additional checkout charges. Standard contains the base game; Ultimate adds its upgrade collection. Check your own account region and the linked store for the final price.

The listed preorder GTA+ month is a separate claim, with a 180-day redemption window after preorder. Check eligibility and subscription terms; a promotional membership is not the same thing as owning the base game.

Does Series S mean 60 FPS or a particular resolution?

The checked GTA VI listing does not specify a Series S frame-rate target, resolution or graphics modes. The console page’s general performance claims are not GTA VI measurements.

If performance determines whether you buy a Series X or S, wait for a game-specific announcement or a measured comparison after release. “Optimized for Series X|S” alone does not answer which graphics modes GTA VI offers.

Game Pass, cloud gaming and a Windows purchase

The checked GTA VI product page offers a purchase and lists Series X|S under supported devices. It does not confirm Game Pass inclusion or cloud availability. Do not buy a subscription on the assumption that it includes GTA VI.

Xbox Play Anywhere applies to participating games identified by its badge. An Xbox store page is not automatically a Windows license. This GTA VI listing does not establish a native PC copy; check for explicit PC support before buying for a laptop or handheld.
