Is there a Mac release date or an M-series version?
The announced console date is not a Mac release date. The checked announcement supplies neither a macOS edition nor native Mac system requirements. A MacBook Air, MacBook Pro or iMac with an M1, M2, M3, M4 or Intel chip is not confirmed compatible simply because it runs other games.
There is no verified GTA VI Mac benchmark in these sources. We therefore cannot recommend a chip, RAM upgrade or compatibility application for running it locally. Wait for a named platform and its requirements before making that purchase.

Native play, Remote Play and cloud access
The PS5 listing supports Remote Play, and Sony supports its receiving app on Mac. This establishes a supported route to prepare for; it is not a hands-on GTA VI streaming test before launch.
Native play, Remote Play and cloud access| Option | What it means for a Mac owner |
|---|
| Native macOS game | No confirmed Mac release in the checked announcement |
|---|
| PS5 Remote Play | Your PS5 runs the game; the Mac receives video and sends controls |
|---|
| Cloud service | Needs separate confirmation that the service offers GTA VI; Remote Play support does not establish that |

What a Mac needs for PS Remote Play
Sony lists 2 GB RAM and 40 MB of app storage for its Mac client, plus a supported macOS version. These are streaming-app requirements, not GTA VI requirements or its download size. Check the linked support page for the current OS list.
- Use the same PlayStation account as your PS5, with Remote Play enabled and a supported controller.
- Sony recommends at least 5 Mbps upload and download, and 15 Mbps in both directions for better performance.
- The PS5 must be available to run the session. Test the connection near it before relying on access away from home.

Should you download a “GTA 6 Mac” installer?
A file named GTA 6.dmg or a download button does not establish an official Mac edition. Start from Rockstar’s platform links and confirm the publisher, platform and product before paying or installing anything.
If you only own a Mac, waiting for a native announcement avoids buying a console edition you cannot run locally. If you already own a PS5, the linked Remote Play guide explains the setup without treating streaming as a Mac port.
